For this project, you'll need:

- EM-1010 machine

- Luminaris 200 White Toner Transfer Printer - Heat press - 75/11 needles - 40 weight thread - Magnetic Hoop - White hoodie - Snips/Scissors - 1 sheet of tear-away stabilizer - 1 sheet of transfer paper - 1 sheet of adhesive paper - 1 sheet of Teflon paper

Not only does this technique allow you to interesting designs on clothing, but you also save on production time since the majority of the design is printed almost instantly instead of having to embroider the whole thing.

To start this project, we first need to print the design on the transfer sheet. Drag the design from your computer over to the Luminaris 200 White Toner Transfer Printer using the LuminRIP software that came with your machine.

Also, make sure to load the printer with the transfer paper. You do this by opening the printer tray, loading the paper shiny side down, and then closing it. If you have already sent your design to the printer, it should automatically print after you have loaded the paper.

Now fuse the adhesive paper with the design. Put the transfer paper with the printed design on the heat press and then put the adhesive paper over the transfer paper. Next, place the Teflon sheet over the adhesive sheet and press with the heat press for at 310 degrees F for 120 seconds.

Next, heat transfer the design onto the sweater. Place the sweater on the heat press and put the transfer sheet on the sweater with the shiny part facing up. Put the Teflon sheet on top and press down for 40 seconds. After that, take the hoodie off the heat press and let it cool down for 5 minutes. Peel off the paper after it’s cooled down. Lastly, place it back on the heat press, put down Teflon paper and press for 20 seconds to seal the design on the garment. Once you take it off the heat press, you have a printed design.

After printing, start embroidering the accents. Grab the magnetic hoop, split sides apart, and put the lower part inside the sweater. Also, make sure to put the stabilizer sheet inside the hoodie. Then place down the top part of the hoop. Now put the lower part of the sweater in the sewing arm and clip the hoops to the brackets.

After that, go to the control panel, press ‘File’, and look for your design. Once found, click on it, press ‘OK’, choose your colors, choose your hoop, and flip the design 180 degrees. Then lock the machine. We’ll be running this design at 1000 stitches a minute. And make sure to use the arrow keys to place the design where it needs to be. Now you can press the ‘Start’ button.

When the machine is done, you can take the sweater off and rehoop it to do the next design on the other section of the sweater. You’ll repeat the steps for the first embroidered design. After the embroidery is done, cut out the stabilizer and the little tails.
