Tip #5: Post consistently on social media Etsy is a great website to feature your items because it already has a built-in audience so you won't have to do much to bring traffic to your store. But, if you follow these tips, you’re sure to see even greater success. Tip #1: Research bestsellers of a particular product Use the search bar to find examples of the product you’re looking to make. Find items that are popular by checking for the “best-seller tag.” You can use these examples as inspiration for your products. Tip #2: Take good product photos Spend time editing your photos. Think about what would catch your eye if you were scrolling through Etsy. For example, clear pictures with great lighting and composition. If you want your products to stand out, Henry even recommends using a clean white background to help your items pop. Tip #3: Use photo editing software There are quite a few free photo editing apps, like VSCO, Whitagram and Snapseed, that you can use to the perfect photo that will attract customers to your Etsy shop. You can use any of these programs to easily adjust the brightness and contrast for your next product post directly on your phone. Henry also suggests investing in a product light box, or mini photography studio kits, to take standalone photos of your product. Tip #4: Take advantage of social media Utilizing photo-focused platforms like Facebook and Instagram are a great way to promote your Etsy shop and drive even more traffic to your site. Make sure you’re using those amazing product photos! Tips #5: Post consistently on social media If you’re not active and posting consistently on social media, it will hurt the credibility of your shop. Being consistent on social media shows your potential clients that you are a real, trustworthy shop with great products to showcase. With so much competition on Etsy, you want to make sure you have a good online presence so customers will choose your products over your competitors.
